Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Crossing the Wadi by Georges Washington was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,826.23). Admittedly, works by Georges Washington have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Baignade Des Chevaux in June 2012 with an auction result of EUR 224,491.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Crossing the Wadi von Georges Washington kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 30.240,00 (€ 35.826,23) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georges Washington auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Baignade Des Chevaux im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 224.491,00.
