Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Shepherd And His Flock by Georgios Prokopiou. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,101.93), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georgios Prokopiou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jusqu' à la fin - la bataille victorieuse de Eskisehir Seyitgazi en 8 Juillet 1921 in May this year with an auction result of EUR 22,950.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shepherd And His Flock von Georgios Prokopiou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.101,93) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georgios Prokopiou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jusqu' à la fin - la bataille victorieuse de Eskisehir Seyitgazi en 8 Juillet 1921 im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 22.950,00.
