Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gerasimos Steris could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century Art: A Different Perspective auction, the work The Dream changed hands for GBP 8,820.00 (€ 9,846.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerasimos Steris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 57,600.00 (€ 84,762.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerasimos Steris konnte im November 2020 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century Art: A Different Perspective wechselte die Arbeit The Dream für GBP 8.820,00 (€ 9.846,10) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerasimos Steris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 57.600,00 (€ 84.762,30).
