Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,647.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gervase Spencer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Young Boy, Circa 1750, which sold at auction in May 2020 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,632.01).
