Auction result well in line with expectations

The work View of Old London Bridge from Fishmongers looking towards Southwark Cathedral by Gideon Yates was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,255.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gideon Yates have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Waterloo Bridge, eastwards from the north bank of the Thames, St. Paul's beyond; and View from above Goding's New Lion Ale Brewery looking towards Westminster Abbey and the north bank of the Thames (illustrated) in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,711.80).
