Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Piazza D'Italia (Mercurio E I Metafisici) by Giorgio de Chirico was sold in the The Italian Sale auction at Christies in London in October 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 847,650.00 (€ 1,053,904.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio de Chirico achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 15,890,400.00 (€ 13,643,341.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Piazza D'Italia (Mercurio E I Metafisici) von Giorgio de Chirico wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion The Italian Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 847.650,00 (€ 1.053.904,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio de Chirico erzielen.
