Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Part II: Paintings, Sculpture, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work The Madonna at Prayer by Giovanni Battista Salvi. The price achieved of GBP 47,880.00 (€ 55,155.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Salvi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna and Child embracing in an interior, a landscape with Saint Joseph beyond in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 551,844.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Part II: Paintings, Sculpture, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Madonna at Prayer von Giovanni Battista Salvi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.880,00 (€ 55.155,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Salvi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Madonna and Child embracing in an interior, a landscape with Saint Joseph beyond im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 551.844,05).
