Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hercules by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020. The price achieved of USD 212,500.00 (€ 182,450.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work King David in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,193,250.00 (€ 6,244,298.00).
