When the work Guri Kulikovsky (1919-1984) at breakfast, Knudsminde by Grand Duchess Olga was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,199.79). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Grand Duchess Olga - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-portrait with easel; Four landscapes; and Floral study, which sold at auction in June 2017 for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 64,058.26).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Guri Kulikovsky (1919-1984) at breakfast, Knudsminde von Grand Duchess Olga im Juni 2017 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.199,79) mehr als viermal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Grand Duchess Olga mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-portrait with easel; Four landscapes; and Floral study beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 64.058,26) versteigert wurde.
