In September 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Sumo Wrestling by Gu Gan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,719.39), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gu Gan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Concern With No Obstruction in April 2007 with an auction result of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 28,089.31).

Im September 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sumo Wrestling von Gu Gan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.719,39) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gu Gan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Concern With No Obstruction im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 28.089,31).
