This artwork by Guglielmo Ciardi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2013. In the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction, the work Vele in Laguna sold for GBP 116,500.00 (€ 140,192.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Guglielmo Ciardi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Italian a View Of St Marks Basin With The Punta Della Dogana sold at auction in June 2017 with the realized price of GBP 212,500.00 (€ 241,997.85).
