Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2008. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 7,908.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work How Can You Sleep Tonight? in March last year with an auction result of USD 2,040,000.00 (€ 1,838,997.57).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Gulam Mohammed Sheikh kam im März 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 7.908,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gulam Mohammed Sheikh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit How Can You Sleep Tonight? im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.040.000,00 (€ 1.838.997,57).
