Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Wedge In The Composition by Gulam Rasool Santosh was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,679.73). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gulam Rasool Santosh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 108,151.27).
