Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Fish by Guy Taplin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,774.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Guy Taplin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twenty Spoonbills in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,886.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fish von Guy Taplin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.774,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guy Taplin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twenty Spoonbills im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.886,88).
