In December last year Bonhams held the auction Chinese Paintings Online 20th century and Beyond!, which included the work Vulture, 1979 by Han Meilin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,562.50 (€ 8,938.59), 59% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Han Meilin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rooster in April this year with an auction result of HKD 74,400.00 (€ 75,976.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Chinese Paintings Online 20th century and Beyond! durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vulture, 1979 von Han Meilin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.562,50 (€ 8.938,59) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Han Meilin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rooster im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 74.400,00 (€ 75.976,96).
