In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Still life with spring flowers in a white urn by Harold Clayton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,837.30), 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Harold Clayton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Flowers In A White Pot in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,645.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with spring flowers in a white urn von Harold Clayton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.837,30) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Harold Clayton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Flowers In A White Pot im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 35.645,54).
