Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Allegra by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,650.00 (€ 6,273.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Vine in May 2009 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 681,367.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Allegra von Harriet Whitney Frishmuth zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.650,00 (€ 6.273,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harriet Whitney Frishmuth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Vine im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 681.367,69).
