Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Shoppers (Bird'S Eye View) by Harry Senger was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 400.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 307.20 (€ 290.69). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harry Senger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Commuters from Above, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 892.50 (€ 837.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Shoppers (Bird'S Eye View) von Harry Senger im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 307,20 (€ 290,69) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Harry Senger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Commuters from Above beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 892,50 (€ 837,71) versteigert wurde.
