The renowned painter He Jiaying was born in Tianjin in 1957. He graduated in 1980 from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and has remained there to teach. He is a member of the NCCPCC, Deputy Chairman of the China Artists Association and of the Tianjin Artists Association, President of the Tianjin Painting Academy, Deputy President of the Contemporary Fine Painting Association. In September 2013 Sothebys in Beijing held the auction Sotheby's Charity Auction - Ai You Reborn, which included the work After The Bath by He Jiaying. The »bidding war« ended at CNY 767,000.00 (€ 92,595.35), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by He Jiaying - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude, which sold at auction in May 2014 for HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 344,252.20).

Im September 2013 führte Sothebys in Beijing die Auktion Sotheby's Charity Auction - Ai You Reborn durch, in der auch die Arbeit After The Bath von He Jiaying zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CNY 767.000,00 (€ 92.595,35) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von He Jiaying mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für HKD 3.640.000,00 (€ 344.252,20) versteigert wurde.
