Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Orchids in a copper vase by Helen Thornycroft. It changed hands for a price of GBP 564.00 (€ 921.84) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Helen Thornycroft - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee procession passing over London Bridge, which sold at auction in September 2001 for GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,414.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Orchids in a copper vase von Helen Thornycroft zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 564,00 (€ 921,84) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Helen Thornycroft mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee procession passing over London Bridge beobachtet, die im September 2001 für GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.414,82) versteigert wurde.
