Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Marilyn Grabowski, Playboy, 1993 by Helmut Newton for USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,751.38). This price was achieved in the auction Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection Part II at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helmut Newton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,340,000.00 (€ 2,180,598.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Marilyn Grabowski, Playboy, 1993 von Helmut Newton für USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.751,38) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection Part II bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helmut Newton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.340.000,00 (€ 2.180.598,27).
