This artwork by Hendrick de Clerck achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2012. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work The Rape of Europa sold for GBP 97,250.00 (€ 119,936.26) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hendrick de Clerck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Judgment Of Paris, which sold at auction in January 2020 for USD 462,500.00 (€ 416,929.60).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hendrick de Clerck erzielte im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale wurde die Arbeit The Rape of Europa für GBP 97.250,00 (€ 119.936,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hendrick de Clerck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Judgment Of Paris beobachtet, die im Januar 2020 für USD 462.500,00 (€ 416.929,60) versteigert wurde.
