The work Le Lit by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was sold in the The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Volume 1 | Important Pictures and Decorative Arts, Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 3,660,000.00 (€ 3,684,316.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Blanchisseuse in November 2005 with an auction result of USD 22,416,000.00 (€ 19,012,722.65).
