Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reading in the forest by Henri Joseph Harpignies was sold in the British and European Art auction at Christies in London in July last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,541.97) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Joseph Harpignies achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vue prise dans l'île de Capri, Golfe de Naples in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 160,000.00 (€ 171,526.59).

Die Arbeit Reading in the forest von Henri Joseph Harpignies wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.340,00 (€ 13.541,97) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Joseph Harpignies erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vue prise dans l'île de Capri, Golfe de Naples im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 160.000,00 (€ 171.526,59).
