Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Christies held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Untitled (11 Generals) by Henry Darger. The price achieved of USD 13,860.00 (€ 12,764.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Darger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre in December 2014 with an auction result of EUR 601,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (11 Generals) von Henry Darger zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 12.764,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Darger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans Titre im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 601.500,00.
