Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henri Emile Vollet could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the La Mystique de L'Indochine auction, the work The Bridge of L.K. China and Vietnam Border | 中國與越南邊境的橋 changed hands for HKD 18,900.00 (€ 1,993.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Emile Vollet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Examen Des Lettrés À Hué, Annam (The Scholar Examination At Hué, Annam) in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 27,972.72).
