Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Town and Bay of Valparaiso, Chili by Henry James was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,589.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry James have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sans Titre, 2022 in November last year with an auction result of EUR 8,528.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Town and Bay of Valparaiso, Chili von Henry James kam im Mai 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.589,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry James auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sans Titre, 2022 im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.528,00.
