Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Couplet of Calligraphy, 1932 by Hongyi Fashi was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 16,562.50 (€ 14,633.77). Admittedly, works by Hongyi Fashi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Running/Standard Script, 1937 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 87,812.50 (€ 75,850.82).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Couplet of Calligraphy, 1932 von Hongyi Fashi im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 16.562,50 (€ 14.633,77) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hongyi Fashi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running/Standard Script, 1937 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.812,50 (€ 75.850,82).
