Snow Bamboo and Kingfisher, 1960
Ink and color on paper, hanging scroll, inscribed, dedicated to Beishou, dated gengzi chun (1960, spring) and signed Leisheng with one artist's seal reading Huang, and with an additional inscription by Huang Jiyun, dated gengzi san yue (1960, third month) and signed Jiyun with one seal.

This artwork by Huang Leisheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June 2021. In the Chinese Works of Art auction, the work Snow Bamboo And Kingfisher, 1960 sold for USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,443.62) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Leisheng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Overnight Rain In The Mountains in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 377,600.00 (€ 41,559.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Huang Leisheng erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Works of Art wurde die Arbeit Snow Bamboo And Kingfisher, 1960 für USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.443,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Huang Leisheng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Overnight Rain In The Mountains im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 377.600,00 (€ 41.559,34).
