Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Unknown by Imao Keinen was sold in the Chinese & Japanese Art auction at Christies in London in May 2008. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,272.04), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by Imao Keinen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Keinen kacho gafu [Keinen's natural history paintings Kyoto: S. Nishimura, 1891. 4 volumes in two, 2° (366 x 255mm). 6pp. text. 138 coloured wood-block plates on 163 leaves (including 25 'diptych' plates). Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Unknown von Imao Keinen wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Chinese & Japanese Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.272,04) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Imao Keinen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Keinen kacho gafu [Keinen's natural history paintings Kyoto: S.
