The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,654.46), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaac Walter Jenner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portsmouth, which sold at auction in August 2003 for AUD 9,400.00 (€ 5,553.07).

Die Arbeit HMS Victory lying on her permanent mooring at Portsmouth at dusk von Isaac Walter Jenner wurde im Oktober 2005 in der Auktion Trafalgar Bicentenary bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.654,46) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Isaac Walter Jenner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portsmouth beobachtet, die im August 2003 für AUD 9.400,00 (€ 5.553,07) versteigert wurde.
