Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2001 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Pictures, which included the work Feeding the ducks; and Swans near a mill by John Bonny. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,034.00 (€ 1,666.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Bonny have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lilac Time in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,760.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Feeding the ducks; and Swans near a mill von John Bonny zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.034,00 (€ 1.666,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Bonny auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lilac Time im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.760,04).
