Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Seated woman by Jaap Weijand was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,200.00 – 1,600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,187.50. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jaap Weijand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A still life with red flowers in September 2008 with an auction result of EUR 13,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Seated woman von Jaap Weijand im Juni 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.200,00 – 1.600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.187,50 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jaap Weijand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A still life with red flowers im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.750,00.
