Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Man On The Flying Horse: Illustration For Sean-Eoin (1938) by Jack Butler Yeats. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,159.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Butler Yeats achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Whistle of a Jacket in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,103,750.00 (€ 1,850,462.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man On The Flying Horse: Illustration For Sean-Eoin (1938) von Jack Butler Yeats zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.159,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Butler Yeats erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Whistle of a Jacket im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.103.750,00 (€ 1.850.462,00).
