Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Maritime, which included the work Off Lurcher Shoal by Jack Lorimer Gray. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,400.00 (€ 15,982.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Lorimer Gray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Running Before The Trades in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 145,875.00 (€ 170,262.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit Off Lurcher Shoal von Jack Lorimer Gray zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.400,00 (€ 15.982,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Lorimer Gray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Running Before The Trades im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.875,00 (€ 170.262,25).
