Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work A Sinister Turn of Emotion I by Jack Vettriano was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 9,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,564.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Vettriano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bluebird At Bonneville in August 2007 with an auction result of GBP 468,000.00 (€ 691,827.58).

Als die Arbeit A Sinister Turn of Emotion I von Jack Vettriano im März 2013 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 9.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 30.000,00 (€ 35.564,14) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Vettriano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bluebird At Bonneville im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 468.000,00 (€ 691.827,58).
