Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of a Dutch city by Jacob Maris was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 33,600.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Maris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work De Brug (bij Rijswijk): the bridge, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 120,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit View of a Dutch city von Jacob Maris wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 33.600,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob Maris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit De Brug (bij Rijswijk): the bridge beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 120.250,00 versteigert wurde.
