Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master PaintingsPart II, which included the work A scholar in his study by Jacob van Spreeuwen. The price achieved of USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,794.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacob van Spreeuwen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Interior Of A Kitchen With A Seated Woman Peeling Onions, A Child Hiding Behind Her, And A Child Holding A Cabbage On A Barrel in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 61,997.70).

Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master PaintingsPart II durch, in der auch die Arbeit A scholar in his study von Jacob van Spreeuwen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.000,00 (€ 13.794,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob van Spreeuwen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Interior Of A Kitchen With A Seated Woman Peeling Onions, A Child Hiding Behind Her, And A Child Holding A Cabbage On A Barrel im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 61.997,70).
