Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Solomon and the Queen of Sheba by Jacob Willemsz. de Wet was sold in the Old Master & British Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2008. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,034.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Willemsz. de Wet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Joseph Vendant Du Blé En Egypte, which sold at auction in September 2021 for EUR 20,800.00.

Die Arbeit Solomon and the Queen of Sheba von Jacob Willemsz. de Wet wurde im Juli 2008 in der Auktion Old Master & British Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.034,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden.
