This artwork by Jacques Callot achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2019. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Les Grandes Misères de la Guerre sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,913.22) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Callot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fair At Gondreville, Or Mayday Celebrations At Xeuilley in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,746.48).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques Callot erzielte im Januar 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit Les Grandes Misères de la Guerre für USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.913,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques Callot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fair At Gondreville, Or Mayday Celebrations At Xeuilley im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 288.000,00 (€ 427.746,48).
