Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 68,500.00 (€ 86,400.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques de Gheyn II. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A large beech, partly in leaf in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,142,500.00 (€ 1,441,051.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A kneeling shepherd von Jacques de Gheyn II. wurde im Juli 2014 in der Auktion The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection. Part I bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 68.500,00 (€ 86.400,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques de Gheyn II. erzielen.
