Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ailé by Jacques Villon was sold in the Collection Monsieur et Madame Robert Schmit, Part II auction at Sothebys in Paris in March last year. The price achieved of EUR 20,160.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Villon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Acrobate in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,025,000.00 (€ 920,520.88).
