Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacques Villon could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Collection Monsieur et Madame Robert Schmit, Part II auction, the work Repos de vacances changed hands for EUR 5,670 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 6,000 – 8,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Villon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Acrobate in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,025,000 (€ 920,521).
