Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2014 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary, which included the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) by Jagdish Swaminathan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 112,500.00 (€ 89,087.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jagdish Swaminathan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) in September last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) von Jagdish Swaminathan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 89.087,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jagdish Swaminathan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 837.166,51).
