When the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) by Jagdish Swaminathan was auctioned at Christies in New York in September last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 250,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51). This high result makes Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) the most expensive artwork by Jagdish Swaminathan that we have observed at auctions so far.
