Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction At Home - British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Portrait Of A Boy Scout by James Hamilton Mackenzie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 537.75 (€ 773.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Hamilton Mackenzie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter Feeding, which sold at auction in March 2005 for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,747.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion At Home - British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Boy Scout von James Hamilton Mackenzie zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 537,75 (€ 773,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von James Hamilton Mackenzie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Winter Feeding beobachtet, die im März 2005 für GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.747,68) versteigert wurde.
