Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Ballygally Bay, Co. Antrim by James Humbert Craig. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,180.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by James Humbert Craig have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Soft Day, Connemara in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 69,600.00 (€ 102,421.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ballygally Bay, Co. Antrim von James Humbert Craig zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.180,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Humbert Craig auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Soft Day, Connemara im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 69.600,00 (€ 102.421,11).
