Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a gentleman, seated half-length, in a brown coat on a red chair by James Northcote for GBP 960.00 (€ 1,417.26). This price was achieved in the auction British and Victorian Paintings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Northcote achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Admiral William Waldegrave, 1St Baron Radstock (1753-1825) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 46,100.00 (€ 64,551.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, seated half-length, in a brown coat on a red chair von James Northcote für GBP 960,00 (€ 1.417,26) erwerben.
