This artwork by James Thomas Watts achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2013. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Woodland Scenes: Spring; And Autumn (Illustrated) sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,115.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Thomas Watts; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A wooded landscape in winter sold at auction in March 2002 with the realized price of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,067.43).
