Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gathering Mussels by James Whaite was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in August 2010. The price achieved of GBP 500.00 (€ 604.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Whaite achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bantry Bay in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,767.82).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 500,00 (€ 604,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Whaite erzielen.
